Oro di Gagliole is only produced from Moraiolo olives, which have always been considered the queen variety of the Chianti Classico region.
This variety of olive has been cultivated by Franciscan monks since the Middle Ages, who recognised its adaptability and production qualities on rocky and impervious soils, such as those in the interior and mountainous regions of Tuscany.
The Oro di Gagliole was born after careful zoning of our olive groves to express this fascinating variety's unique characteristics in the best possible way.
The Moraiolo olives used to produce this sublime Extra Virgin Olive Oil come from a small plot of land within our olive grove in Panzano in Chianti, called Santa Teresa.
